Am I covered?
Most varicose vein procedures are considered to be a symptom of vein disease; therefore they are covered by most major insurance carriers.
Some services may not be covered, such as cosmetic spider vein removal, so we recommend speaking with our patient care coordinator.
The best way to learn about insurance coverage is to visit us for a consultation. Once we can assess your medical condition, review your insurance options, we can then come up with a comprehensive payment scenario.
Financial Assistance
Should your costs not be covered by insurance, we offer a range of financing options. We believe that financial concerns should not prevent you from the relief you deserve.

Diagnosis
Meeting With Our Team of Specialists
Meeting face to face with a vascular specialist allows you to discuss your unique symptoms, your medical history, and family history. Also, our experienced doctors can walk you through any potential risk factors that may increase your chances of developing vein disease.
In conjunction with a consultation and physical exam, our doctors will determine whether an ultrasound will be required to assist in the diagnosis and developing a comprehensive treatment plan.
Ultrasound
Leg ultrasound san diego is the leading tool in determining whether an underlying vein condition is a cause for the symptoms you may be experiencing.
Venogram
A venogram is a test that will allow our specialists to see the veins inside your body, particularly in the legs. A special dye is injected that will show up on an x-ray, allowing a doctor to assess the overall health of your veins.
Venograms are used to confirm a Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) diagnosis, as well as any other abnormalities that may be present in the veins. Also, a venogram can also detect the cause of leg pain or swelling that might be occurring.
While a venogram is performed with x-rays, the amount of radiation is small. As with any medical procedures, always consult with your doctor to discuss any potential risks that may apply to you.
Duplex Ultrasound
Duplex ultrasound is a test that allows a doctor to see how blood moves through your veins and arteries.
Duplex ultrasound utilizes two techniques: traditional ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound.
- Traditional ultrasound uses sound waves that bounce off blood vessels to create images or pictures.
- Doppler ultrasound records sound waves reflecting off of moving blood and measures the speed and other aspects of how blood flows.
Getting a Diagnosis
Once a diagnosis has been made, you will have the opportunity to speak with our vascular specialists regarding treatment plans, options, and what you feel most comfortable pursuing.
Starting treatment
At iThriveVeins we offer a range of treatments and procedures to fit your unique needs. Below are just a few of our most popular treatment choices.
Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy involves the injection of a solution (“sclerosant”) or foam directly into the varicose vein. The solution irritates the vein, causing it to shrink and collapse.
Endovenous Laser Ablation
Laser ablation utilizes laser heat to contract and seal the unhealthy vein. The heat ultimately causes the vein to contract and seal shut. Unlike the ClosureFast, peak laser temperatures can reach over 1334 F (729 C), which can lead to more pain and bruising after treatment.
Treatment Plans
Every patient is different, and we take the time to ensure that any treatment plan chosen is one that you feel confident and comfortable with.
Through the use of advanced technology, ultrasound, and our experience vascular specialists, we work with you to create the most comprehensive plan of treatment to get you back to feeling and looking your best!
